RESIDENTIAL HOUSE + ADU
The Annisquam House is a single-family residential project in pre-design that aims to create a family retreat integrated with the site’s natural landscape and key features. The design prioritizes the preservation of existing rock formations and perimeter trees while organizing the home around important views, privacy, and a strong connection to outdoor spaces.
In addition to the main residence, the project includes a backyard accessory dwelling unit (ADU) accompanied by a pool and a separate sauna area, creating a flexible space for guests and extended family. The design also incorporates outdoor living elements such as an outdoor shower and seasonal entry sequences.
PROCESS
C2A joined the project at the end of the Design Development (DD) phase, after the final design was approved by the client. The team began the Construction Documents (CD) phase focusing on the ADU and sauna, as these are planned for construction first to provide temporary housing while the main house is being built.
The CD set is being developed for pricing and permitting, incorporating construction updates and client-requested changes, including some program increases. The project is currently in the CD phase, with the full set targeted for completion by mid-March.
The work is organized around weekly goals reviewed every Monday. Ongoing coordination and multiple communication channels allow for efficient daily issue resolution, supporting close collaboration with the client’s team.
RESULTS
The project is advancing on schedule with a coordinated CD set that reflects ongoing client and construction updates. Strong collaboration and communication have helped maintain alignment and support timely delivery for permitting
