RESIDENTIAL HOUSE + REMODELATION HOUSE 1870
This two-phase multi-family project transforms an 1870 house into two independent residences. The front building is carefully renovated with targeted upgrades and structural reinforcement, while the rear portion is replaced by a new contemporary home oriented toward the interior block and existing trees, balancing historic preservation with modern living.
PROCESS
C2A joined the project at the end of the Design Development (DD) phase, after the final design was approved by the client. The team began the Construction Documents (CD) phase focusing on the ADU and sauna, as these are planned for construction first to provide temporary housing while the main house is being built.
The CD set is being developed for pricing and permitting, the work is organized around weekly goals reviewed every Monday. Ongoing coordination and multiple communication channels allow for efficient daily issue resolution, supporting close collaboration with the client’s team.
RESULTS
The project is advancing on schedule with a coordinated CD set that reflects ongoing client and construction updates. Strong collaboration and communication have helped maintain alignment and support timely delivery for permitting
