Vermont Project - Multifamily
5-story steel multi-family residential building delivers 100% affordable housing with a total of 188 modular one-bedroom units averaging 362 SF each. The development features Type IIB construction and accommodates 150 low-income and 37 moderate-income households, offering high-quality, efficient living spaces. Designed as a CPIO Mixed-Income Housing Project, the building utilizes innovative factory-built modular units to accelerate construction while maintaining exceptional quality and design integrity. Residents benefit from thoughtfully planned layouts, including ample circulation, common areas, and essential amenities, all integrated within a compact, L-shaped building footprint that maximizes natural light and functional space. The project leverages off-menu incentives and waivers, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to urban development and affordable housing solutions.
PROCESS
C2A supported the client by leading BIM modeling and comprehensive project documentation, delivering complete Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and permit drawing sets. Additionally, C2A conducted unit-by-unit coordination across all unit types, systematically reviewing and tracking issues through structured reports to ensure seamless alignment between architectural, structural, and MEP systems. This approach streamlined communication, minimized conflicts, and enhanced overall project efficiency and accuracy.
RESULTS
Through precise modeling and comprehensive documentation, C2A helped streamline and accelerate the approval process, facilitating timely permit acquisition while maintaining a high level of design accuracy. This rigorous coordination ultimately resulted in a fully integrated, construction-ready project with minimized conflicts and clear, buildable documentation.
